Lou It was very enjoyable, though I think some of the others didn't find very much. The restaurant ceiling was being repaired which meant that there wasn't as much room as usual, so we weren't all able to sit together unfortunately. But it was great to put more faces to names. nell

Nell That's brilliant. Did you all have a great day? I'd love to go, was gutted I couldn't make it today, and said to Brenda that if today was a success and she arranged one for over the summer, I really will make the effort to do the journey! An Honorary Geordie eh! Lou

that my claim that none of my family had been north of the Wash was false! My great uncle Sam's record told me lots I didn't know about him, including his birth date, height, weight, chest measurement, wife's name (NELLIE!) his wages, his pension etc and it also told me on his examination paper on joining the police that he had previously worked in Newcastle! I couldn't believe it and thought it must be a tiny village in Norfolk but I googled the company name and found it was a big shipbuilding/ordnance business in Elswick, Newcastle. Does this make me an honorary Geordie?! nell
