Gerri I thought it said SON at first but looking more closely I think it says SERV. Seemed a bit odd to be a servant aged 11 but maybe not! Lou |

Looks like it was a sizeable farm next door, and he was a servant. there are others who are 'farm pupils'. Try checking the birthplaces for the different Hovers - they may have shifted round a little. Sue (in NZ) |

Gerri I'm sending page 16 over now (cos you have page 17 with him on, yes?!). Not sure how much use it will be to you though, he's down as being a Servant! Lou |

Top right hand corner it should say page whatever of ** in a square box! If you're on say page 17 and you want the one before or after, change the number to 16 or 18 or whatever and press GO. Does that make sense! Lou |

I have the 1871 census of William Hovers, wife and family R.G.10/2915 page 17.......Civil parish of ELFORD. I have just seen that theres another Hovers at the top of the page. George Hovers, son, aged 11. Looks like theres another Hovers family living 2 doors away. How do I find the page before this one please? Gerri x |
