The September quarter would cover a birth in July. But have you looked at the census to see who the father was with in 1901? Clifford is an unusual name for that era, it would be interesting to see whether it was a family name. If you get Cliffords birth cert it will show the maiden name of his mother.

Dea If you got George & Teresa's wedding cert it would tell you if either or one of them had been married before. If Clifford has the same surname as George that implies George was his dad - but if George was his step-father, maybe Clifford had a different birth name which is why you can't find his birth record. nell

I'm hoping a clear brain may help. - I have been trying to find birth details of Clifford Shaw - I have a dob as 9th July, 1912 - this comes from his death certificate - Vancouver, Canada. His father was George Shaw born 9th Oct. 1879 - Lancs., and mother (??stepmother??) - Teresa Bevan born Salford 8th Nov. 1894. George and Teresa were married in Salford 7th June, 1919 so I am assuming that Clifford, as he was born 7 years earlier, (PROBABLY IN SALFORD ??) was the son of one and stepson to the other ?? - Maybe 2nd marriage?? If you can come up with anything I would be VERY grateful. Regards, Dea
