I have found a relative on the 1851 census and his relationship is 'SURV'. Does anyone know what this could mean. His occupation is shown as a Farm Labourer. |

I would say SERVANT to. This could meen he was endencherd or had a tied cottage therefor reliant on the farmer to live in his house |

I thought at first it was short for servant but the entry above it has servant in full so its a bit odd that this one is down as SURV |
