Another possibility is that he was at a school like The Blue Coat school (I'm sure I've heard of it somewhere) and the scholars were called 'Blue Boys'. Just a thought! Natalie

Does anyone know what a 'blue boy' was? - an occupation given for a 9 year old boy in 1815. David
