saw my first one recently - 1811, Saffron Walden, had age and occupation and pob.

A lot of people probably know this but I didn't! Some of the pre 1841 census are actually really useful - I came across one for Newbury, Berkshire in 1815 and it has addresses, first names and surnames, ages (very accurate in my ancestors cases) and occupations of all the household and occasionally other notes such as where someone came from (as opposed to place of birth). So it's well worth asking at the Records Office what earlier census returns they have - it's helped me get back another generation:)
