	Jack I am very interested to know what conclusions you would have drawn had you NOT proved to have a common ancestor? I take it this was a Y-chromosome test? Marjorie

Member Since: February 2005 Posts: 0 Send Message	There must be many members who feel like me that I am unlikely to find a close relation within the Minnis section. It might be possible however, to determine if we have a common ancestor. A sample of DNA from any male Minnis on the Minnis section could be compared with any other. It would then determine if they shared a common ancestor. I joined the 'Minnis Surname DNA Project a year ago. Comparisons with my DNA and others others established that my great grandfather was James Minnis and that I have two cousins also descended from him. If a member wishes to learn more, the administrator of the above project is Marion Lee Minnis. He is a member of Genes Reunited. N.B. Results indicate that Lee and I are distantly related. Jack Minnis
