Someone has e-mailed me a gedcom file, but I can't open it. I gather it is a common file type used to read family trees, but I only have mine on here, and obviously don't have the 'reader'. Can I download a reader of the web? I am awaiting delivery of FTM2005 so will I be able to open the file with that programme? Totally stupid about computers Claire xx

Hi Claire, if you go to the LDS site, you can download PAF (Personal Ancestry File) and this will allow you to keep all your data on your own pc and to read the gedcom file you have. Trudy
