The cottage my grandfather grew up in has been in local paper alot recently and gave current owners name decided to write to them asking if knew the surname of the people he lived there with, she phoned me last night with a name and were his grandparents, she also said she has plenty of info on the house and the village including photos of the floods there in 1953 showing many people so a chance my lot were on there, she has kindly invited me down next week to have alot through what she has and will gladly do any photo copies for me,so may well do the same regarding others properties as really paid off Kazzie

Im really pleased for you Kaz. Im going to have to get off my butt in the summer and start catching National Expresses I think to take some photos of the addresses I have now got on my notes. It will be so interesting to see the houses where your ancestors lived/died and struggled.

Nothing better than a day out looking at where ancestors lived im always out looking in villages they lived in,one thing I did find out about this cottage is that it was infact two cottages back then Rose and Pillarbox cottage and now Letterbox cottage the owners of it are trying to stop excess traffic coming through village as a few cars have actually hit the cottage so would definatly help them with campaign as just behind is a relief rd another thing interested to see if true is if there is a tree trunk in the cottage as my mum was always told there was,I cant wait to go now Kazzie
