thanks for the ideas everyone. It was such a disapointment becasue this line has been so hard to trace as they can't spell their name & every record has it spelt differently. clemmitt clemit cemitt clements etc etc etc

Hi Karen Kirby Underdale isn't very far from where Huttons Ambo used to be (isn't there any more but there is a place called High Hutton in more or less the same place) Jeanette x

YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO LOOK AT THE INFO IN THE RECORDS OFFICE, or you could use latter day saints and order the microfiche for a couple of pound, or ask if anyone lives near the particular records office that could pop in and look for you or ring the church they might be helpful hope it helps sandra

One thing that is interesting is that the cert says John Clemmitt was living at Kirbyunderdale ??? but on all the census he is from Huttons ambo.

it does say they married in the parish church in the parish of Bishop wella????nilla ?? Willa ?? It says after banns on it.........doesn't it mean I have to visit the church they were married in to get more info though?? It was the district of Pocklington......anyone heard of Bishop ???????

I finally received the marriage cert for my gt gt grandparents, & it tells me nothing. No names of parents.....just a blank box. Address just has the town they are from. No middle names.........wwwwwaaaaaaaaaaghh not even ages...just says full age. why why why.....................
