Hi Susan We're told never to assume anything but as most of history is based on educated guesses I would think they are worth pencilling in. Vivienne

I have traced the Dove families of Wragby, Lincs back to a William Dove c1784. He married an Elizabeth ??? and at some time they moved to Wragby and had 9 children there. I cant find their marriage anywhere and only Elizabeth shows in the 1841 Census - which doesnt give birth places. William died in 1835 and Elizabeth in 1847. Sooooo - i am trying to find William's parents and there are a number of possible Williams born round about 1784 but the most likely one, I think, is born in Market Rasen to Thomas Dove and Ann ??? Apart from it being close to Wragby - William and Elizabeth's first 2 children are named Thomas and Ann. And it was the custom then to name the first 2 children after their grandparents. So should i assume they are William's parents? Sue
