If you want to add prople who are living but don't add permision is to just name them as 'Living' that way you can still see the relationship. I've had to do this with my parents and grandparents because I've not asked if I can include them but they have to be there otherwise I don't have a tree.

Hi Claire Can't find the thread, but it is part of the conditions of this site that you must have permission to add living people to your tree. If your Dad has given you permission then that's ok. If somebody else has copied your tree and not asked you permission to add living rellies, then I would think you would be perfectly within your rights to ask them to remove the living people. If I were you though I wouldn't include living people at all. Jeanette x

Sorry if I am repeating this subject. I am sure I saw a thread about it but can't find it now. If anyone can nudge it instead of having to answer this one I'm sure I will find the answer I am looking for. Any way, my question is, if my Dad for example gives ME permission to put his name on my tree, does he do it with the understanding that anyone who shares my tree can put it on theirs, or does each person have to apply individually for permission? The reason I ask is because I have just seen my family (me included) on another tree. Now I have definately not given the person permission to view my tree, OR permission to add my name to theirs. I don't mind MY name being there because we are all here for the same purpose, but I wonder how they got my family's info, and whether they had permission, or just assumed they could because the name was already listed IYSWIM. Thanks for any help:o) Claire xx
