Sorry, I think I'm having a mental block, please can someone offer a clue as to where to look next. I have found MARTHA MULLINS born Bristol c1820, I have her marriage to William Silvey in Gloucester in 1841, 1851 census with 4 children in Gloucester & her death in Gloucester in 1899. Her marriage certificate states that her father was JAMES MULLINS, a butcher. I also know from 1851 census that she had a brother Richard born c1817 in Bristol. How can I find out about her parents or siblings? Thanks, Helen

hmmmm - marriage cert doesnt say deceased - have you tried 1841 census for Dad James ? Difficult with no address I guess. Any idea which part of Bristol ? I've seen Bristol in Glouceseter and in Somerset on early records. Have you tried the LDS/IGI site ? Does Evercreech, Somerset ring any bells ? 22. RICHARD MULLINS - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 20 JUL 1817 Evercreech, Somerset, England Update - sorry, Richard's parents were a Robert & Matilda ... 6. JAMES PENNY MULLINS - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 16 APR 1797 Evercreech, Somerset, England

Might be worth browsing the Mullins references in LDS ? Use this link http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=titlehitlist&columns=*%2C0%2C0&surname=mullins&presurname=mullins

Laird, Thanks so much. I will definately get on the case - I had found a reference to A George Reakes marrying an Elizabeth Mullins in Evercreech on ancestry, had not found a connection but kept the info. I will try to folow up the Janet Reakes clue. Thanks for your time & help, Helen

Thanks Jen, I have made a note & Heather I'm glad that Evercreech is lovely because some of the places which will have to feature on my family tree world tour I'm afraid to say seem to have slid downhill a little during the 20th Century - luckily so far they are outnumbered by nice places. Thanks, Helen
