Does anyone know of a website that lists pubs from around the 1880's? one of my rellies held the license for the White Horse Inn - congleton and i'd love to know where it used to be c x

If you google for Pub History you should find the website that lists all old pubs and their licensees. Good luck. Heres the website addy: http://www(.)pubhistorysociety(.)co(.)uk/ Remove the brackets when you enter the address.

Claire As someone who has publicans in her tree, I wonder if if may be worth you putting another message up asking if anyone knows Congleton and where the pub may be/was? Also, I managed to e-mail the local Library to another of my pubs in London and they e-mailed me back to let me know where it used to be and telling me that it had been bombed in the war. Good Luck!!
