Can somebody advise which office I should go to - do they hold ALL records?

Annie.... Try getting your info from the free sites 1st.....then go to the pay as you view sites.....then go to Kew. You can always ask for help on here too.Everyone is very friendly AND helpful. Gerri

If you're looking for parish records then the LMA (guessing that what you mean by London) is the place to go.

What do you want to look at? Family Records Centre in Islington has ALL the census records, ALL the GRO indexes and lots of other things including free access to some information that is pay per view on the net. National Archives at Kew is not the first port of call. If you have ancestors in WW1 or earlier army or navy ancestors they may have records . (There are plenty of other things, but these are the main ones people are likely to be interested in) Parish records and local information is likely to be in the nearest records office and a percentage of this will be available at LDS libraries.
