1861 £5 for 3 months??

I think it may be a subscription to the online index they have to just one area for the 1861 census - and then you would still have to look at the images somewhere else to get the rest of the details! It's really for people who have bought a CD from them to use.

Well Steven I spent £10 on the 1837 61 census for the home counties this past couple of weeks with only one good result. This ad seems to offer complete freedom to browse the whole census. Must be a con I suppose. May have to wait for ancestry to add it on - in May isnt it?

You'd be better off trying www.1837online.com They're in the process of putting the 1861 census on there at the moment. You can buy 55 credits for £5.00 and to view each census page costs 3 credits. A few of the home counties and London are available right now, to be followed by the rest of England soon.
