You should try Rootsweb site for Sussex. There is a brilliant guy on there who lives near Hastings and does look ups in the parish records quite frequently for people on the board. He sorted out a whole line of my Cheals down there for me. He also has the censuses for the area.

Hi Katrina You might have to wait until the 1861 for Sussex appears on 1837online or on Ancestry. From what I've been told, there isn't an index yet for Brighton 1861, and it's a large town so without an address a search is next to impossible. I'm seeking a couple of people in Brighton 1861 too! Can anyone please help me with Sussex. Looking for a birth of Walter Storrow Rigby 1859/1860 Brighton. Also his parents marriage Elizabeth Storrow and James henry Rigby around 1858. Also can anyone please find them on the census 1861 Sussex. many thanks katrina Australia
