Babz in Oz. Brilliant, definitely my William, he was born in Gayton. It narrows down when he first got married and I can trawl through 1837! (I can't find him on free BMD). LOts of unanswered questions but this is another link Thank you. Christine

You could look for a marriage on 1837online. The cert would give you the address. When you know Madeleine's maiden name you could check for children then ..also on 1837online. Good luck. Joan

Thanks Margaret. I don't know if they had any children or where they died. All a total mystery but I could try the electoral roll, its about my only hope I think Regards Christine

You probably need to contact or visit the relevant county record office and look up the electoral register. Otherwise, did they have any children after the date you have? Address will be on the birth cert. Or, perhaps a death cert of him or his wife. Margaret

I am trying to trace William Thomas Whitehead. In 1901 he was in the metropolitan police living Harrow Manor Way police quarters, age 30 widow. By 1915 he had retired. His MEPO sates that his next of kin was Adelaine - wife. Iwanted to find out where he had gone to but his MEPO - pension- states address to be advised.. I can find no details of his first marriage nor second marriage to Adelaine and I want to know whether he stayed in the Abbey Wood area or returned to Northamptonshire where he was born. Does anyone have any ideas how I could find out his post retirment address, if it was to be advised where would it be listed? Has anyone come across a marriage of William to Adelaine? BIt of dead end here. CHristine
