Hi Margaret: Try this site http://www(.)archives.gov.on(.)ca/ I am not sure if it will help you, but may give information on where to start. Also http://www(.)collectionscanada(.)ca/02/0201_e(.)html and http://olivetreegenealogy(.)com/index(.)shtml I hope these will help. Remove the brackets. Teresa in Canada

Margaret, This site is attempting to put Ontario Births online - far from finished but you might find something - keep looking back - they add to it all the time. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb(.)com~births/index.htm and marriages- a bit more on here..... http://homepages.rootsweb(.)com~maryc/ontmarr.htm I'll see if there might be any local newspapers you could search for BMD and get back to you. Regards Barbara

Hi Margaret As far as I know there is no online site for Ontario births. I'm still trying to trace my Grandfather's brothers' and sister's births! This site has some good Canadian genealogy links - don't forget to remove the brackets :o) http://www.islandnet(.)com/~jveinot/cghl/cghl.html Good luck Sue

I think I've traced my great grandfather's two brothers to Barrie, Simcoe North, Ontario in the 1881 census. Both were born in Northumberland UK and probably emigrated between 1871 and 1881. The youngest brother was married with four children, all born in Ontario but I cannot find an online index for births in Ont. Can anyone suggest a way forward to a) confirm they are my great great uncles and b) follow up living relatives. Many thanks in anticipation.
