I wonder if any of you can help? I haven't got very far on one side of the family because their name was DAVIES and they lived in South Wales (Swansea/Carmarthen areas)! This is what I have got: John DAVIES, born c1872 in Llanfihangel, Carmarthen. I found him on the 1901 census, living in Morriston, Swansea. It is definitely my great grandfather as he was living in the house my grandmother was later born in and is the right age. In 1901 he was living with his mother Ann, her second husband Humphrey PRICE and his half brother, William PRICE. John's deceased father was also called John and neither of them had middle names. My great grandmother was called Annie DAVIES (again no middle name) and was in fact John's first cousin (their fathers were brothers). We know she was 12 years younger than him, making her born around 1884. There are so many Annie Davies on the 1901 census that I have not been able to find her at all. My Mum has a strong feeling that Annie's parents were called William and Hannah and she had a number of sisters called Sarah, Jane, Elizabeth and Mary (we have postcards written from these girls). There were possibly a couple of brothers too. I can't find any families matching all these names on 1901. John and Annie DAVIES had my grandmother, also called Annie (although she had a middle name of Caroline) on 9 April 1912, so they must have been married in the previous 11 years (i.e. from 1901 when we know John was definitley single). I have found five or six possibilities for the marriage between John and Annie Davies on freebmd, but having written to all the register offices, I have now eliminated all of them from my enquiries. I don't know where to go from here - any ideas?
