Hi Christine, The BMD is my next 'port of call'! Busy looking for arthur now who appears on 1871 and 1881 but then nothing (again!) John and Ann are my GGG Grandparents! i'm going to print them all off as its a strange name and the majority of them come from congleton. i'm asuming they must be related some way, possible cousins of my lot!!! c x

I had a look on http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk and found this record: Cheshire Birth indexes for the years: 1846 to 1850 Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Reference LANDCAKE Harriett Congleton Cheshire East CON/8/18 It doesn't seem to fit in with any of yours! But this one might? Cheshire Marriage indexes for the years: 1842 Surname Forename(s) Surname Forename(s) Church / Register Office Registers At Reference LANDCAKE John SPROSON Ann Astbury, St Mary Cheshire East 503/2/139 There are 23 LANCAKE marriages on the site - of which some look as if they might be 'yours'. Likewise 32 births - including 'your' Emily, I reckon. But perhaps you've found these already? Christine

tip - search by christian name only in the area you think they might be. If you dont know where they are, do an all-counties search but use the keyword box for parish/town of birth if known. Filter this within the census year by age range, sex etc. Use wildcards if you think either names might be mis-spelled.

Can anyone help me find a rellie??? I have emily lan(d)cake born 1854 married to James Bromley in 1876 and lived in Congleton Cheshire. I have found their Marriage cert and her father is John Landcake. I've got her on the 1881 census as Emily Bromley, but can't find her on the 1871 as Lan(d)cake and i can't find any trace of her parents (although i don't know what her mothers name is). It looks like she's sprung up from nowhere! Can anyone help me? c x
