Well I still haven't found that Jane's a cousin - wish she hadn't been born abt 1800 - it looks like a trip down to Somerset is on the cards! The good news is I've found a 4th cousin once removed and a 5th cousin both on this site! Debby |

I was a bit surprised to find some ancient rellies living with their daughter on one of the censuses. Her maiden name had been Elizabeth Pickering. Their son-in-law was also a Pickering. I guess it was quite common for families to inter-marry when they were in a small community and they all had such a lot of children. |

Any more of this excitement and you'll be wetting yourself! lol I thought years ago they did marry cousins then laws were brought in about inter-relations due to the bloodline? Didn't / doesn't royalty marry cousins? |

I hope not! Haven't come across any other Janes but slowly ploughing through all the info I've been sent - it has 11 generations in it! Really hoping she's from a totally different Baber family and can eventually link them up somewhere! Debby |
