Hi I've spent all afternoon on 1837 online looking for a Birth ref found the right person in the end and I can't read the page number as the writing is too faint. I have changed the image size but still cannot read it. Can I still order the cert without a full ref or will I have to pay extra for them to look it up. Thanks for any advice given Denise |

Instead of ordering from the GRO you could try ordering from the register office for the area - provided it's not a busy London one! They don't use the GRO reference numbers so will need an approximate date or quarter and a point of reference such as fathers name. Jeanette x |

look at the version of the image in:- https://www.familyrelatives.org/treequest/jsp/customer/welcome.jsp this lets you do a more effective search 1860s to 1920, but as you have the basic info ..... Will cost again I guess, failing that, pull the saved image into paintshop and try highlighting or inverting the background ... |
