Help ordering Birth Cert

Hi I've spent all afternoon on 1837 online looking for a Birth ref found the right person in the end and I can't read the page number as the writing is too faint. I have changed the image size but still cannot read it. Can I still order the cert without a full ref or will I have to pay extra for them to look it up. Thanks for any advice given Denise

Instead of ordering from the GRO you could try ordering from the register office for the area - provided it's not a busy London one! They don't use the GRO reference numbers so will need an approximate date or quarter and a point of reference such as fathers name. Jeanette x

look at the version of the image in:- https://www.familyrelatives.org/treequest/jsp/customer/welcome.jsp this lets you do a more effective search 1860s to 1920, but as you have the basic info ..... Will cost again I guess, failing that, pull the saved image into paintshop and try highlighting or inverting the background ...

Thanks for your advice I have e-mailed 1837 online and if they cannot help I will contact local reg office. Thanks again
