I wrote to an informant on a death cert for 2000, I didn't get a reply but it was worth a try. I know you're talking 23yrs, but it's a starting point. You could address the letter to Kenneth Williams (or next of kin) Sam

Janine I think that your best bet would be to ask someone in the area to look Kenneth up in the 1982 electoral roll, which should be available at a library in that area. That might give you more clues, such as his middle name, wife's name etc. It's going to be hard to find him otherwise, with such a common name...

Hi Lou, Firstly, thankyou for replying. My grandfather Stephen Lasham was 69 when he died. His death was listed at Walton Hospital, Walton. Cheers Janine

Janine You can place a Trying to Find by putting a fictitious rellie called Williams in your tree. Once you've done your Trying to Find message you can delete them again. However, it's worth bearing in mind that it's 23 years ago and Kenneth Williams may well be deceased himself by now. I don't know what else to suggest. You might find that the place he died wasn't actually a private house but a nursing home of some kind. A lot of them existed in the UK that didn't have a name, just an address. My Grandfather's 1st wife died at 147 Mill Road, Liverpool which turned out to be a maternity hospital! How old was your grandfather when he died? Lou

Have just recieved my Grandfathers Death Certificate. His death was 1st November 1982. The informant was his stepson Kenneth Williams who lived at 52 Park Lane Bootle Merseyside at the time of death. I am unable to place 'Trying to Find' as I have no Williams on my tree. As I never knew my grandfather I am hoping Kenneth might fill in the blanks for me. Can anyone please help or advise me as to what steps to take next? Cheers Janine in Australia
