what is the reference for that image? anymore details about the image? Christopher.... I have found George's wife Laura and their children but no George. So they wouldn't be together. As my post stated I'm trying to find where george was. He would have been 34 in 1901 and his wife Laura and children are the right ages... I have tried what you are suggesting with not much luck. |

Possibly. I've searched all the George Anstis's i can find and all of them seem the wrong ones. Surely in 1891 he would be an apprentice joiner as on my great grandfathers birth certificate he is a carpenter journeyman. Seeing as you would have had to go through an apprenticeship to get that in the first place. I might check some directories for joiners/carpenters etc to see if i can find him that way. Thanks for anyones help/advice Steve |

I'm looking for a George Ernest Anstis in the 1901 census and in previous census returns if possible. I have his marriage certificate and they married on June 12th 1895. He was aged 28 at the time and was a joiner. He married in Croydon in Surrey. His wife was called Laura Elizabeth Gooding, and George is my great grandfather. Gordon my grandfather and his mother Laura I have found on the 1901 census transcribed as Austis. But there is no George. Can anyone help. Thanks Steve |
