Does anyone know what Bridport Hospital was used for in WW2. My grandmother who was born in 1919 Alresford has listed Bridport Hospital as her dwelling address on her marriage certifcate-but there is no occupation on the certificate either. Can anyone help or have any ideas? kindest regards Karen Hill

The fact that she doesn't list her occupation on the cert doesn't mean she didn't have one. It might just be an error on the registrar's part - I know years ago none of my female relatives ever admitted having a job, though they all did according to the censuses! nell
