Thanks alot...that helps...just as long as I'm not completely off the track. All the people match with my dates...and it would seem possible, from other threads I have read that when Bell died, her hubby and kids could not afford to live anywhere else and would have entered the poorhouse. Thanks again everyone Susan***

Hi All I have traced a rellie called Bell Massey...this was her married name and she died in 1889. In the 1901 census, her husband Mark and 3 kids were listed as paupers along with 150 plus others. There is no address on the census image, and when I searched under the civil parish...came up with a suggestion of Beverley Union Workhouse, Union Road, Beverley St Mary, Yorkshire. They are listed in 1901 as 'paupers'.......but on the 1881 census of the workhouse, people are listed as 'inmates'. Is there a difference? Can I presume that they were in there due to Bell's death? Or..am I barking up the wrong tree entirely. Any tip would be great. Thanks Susan***
