Hey thanks my friends, Crista you're up late, Brian nice to hear from you again and Richard,is it OZ or Scotland, thanks. Still in a confused state, Crista, I think the FILExt site is beyond me, Richard's advice is OK except I have Adobe 4 & 5 on desktop and do not know how to update to Adobe 7, something to do with 'add & remove' prog on settings. When clicking on it, theres a yellow triangle, no workee. Tried IE, Brian, but no joy at present. Its the age, keep trying, regards, Derek |

A lot will be in Adobe Acrobat, so make sure you have downloaded that. What often also works in to right click and go 'Open with' and choose Internet Explorer. |

For most common file types, you can download free file viewers which will enable you to at least view and/or print the contents without needing the actual program installed on your PC. Type the extension and 'file viewer' into Google to find the right viewer. Richard |

On occasions, like me, I'm sure everyone receives files, emails etc that are frustrating because one cannot open them. They appear with odd lettering attachments such as the following:- psf, pdf, %pdf, abm, eml, pps, psd, dbx, disclaimer2.txt and more. Where does one start to find the answers, is there a book, a website, someone in the know, as I say, surely I'm not the only one and I expect there other additions that I have not mentioned.
