I really wish I had the answer I have Irish ancestors, I do not know when they came to England - can guess at about 1850's, but only Ireland shown on the census returns, so have been unable to trace them in Ireland or birth/marriage details. Good Luck Irene

Unless you can work out which parish, then currently you can't. If you know the parish, then you can see if the LDS has the baptisms, either on familysearch or in their special family history centres.

so if i find all parishes in each county then systimatically work through them i might hit upon one of them? Ta Chris

Galway has 116 parishes. There are more than 116 churches, to cater for Protestants and Catholics. Each church has its own set of baptism registers. Parents could have baptised their child at one month old or at six years, or even later. So you need to search the registers of about 200 churches for a period of at least 6 years, paying the LDS a couple of pounds per microfilm/fiche you order.

Thanks Twinkle Have also discovered whilst searching google that there is a search centre in County Mayo that will do an extensive search for a fee. Could be an interesting option. Chris
