Hi Lisa Thanks so much for you help -I will certainly keep an eye on the sites you mention. I can see that it's going to be complicated until I can find out where in Canada he went! Kind regards -Pat

Hi Pat: I tried (without success) checking: http://www.ingeneas(.)com/free/index.html They don't have free records, but if your ancestor was listed, you would at least know the date he entered the country, and could purchase the information if you wanted to. InGeneas is continuously updating their information, so it is not unusual to not find your ancestors. On another Canada posting today, Sue mentioned a great site, for Ontario cemetery records: http://www.islandnet(.)com/ocfa/homepage.html In the event he settled in Ontario, here's a site that has marriages for 1800-1924 (in the event he remarried, of course): http://homepages.rootsweb(.)com/~maryc/ontmarr.htm I've only found about 20% of my ancestors on this site, so they certain don't have all of the records.

My great aunt, ELLEN DONOVAN married WILLIAM RICHARD FLYNN in West Ham, London in 1907. They had 2 children one of whom died. ELLEN herself died at the age of 22 in 1910. Following this sad event, WILLIAM took his remaining child, a boy, and emigrated to Canada..............................................................................Which site would be of use in trying to trace his entry to Canada or any possible relations? I've tried lots of sites with no results other than confusion! .............................. My thanks, Pat
