Have you tried Social Services?....The Salvation Army do a person search....It costs £25 I believe.

I was interested in reading the messages on this posting, can understand why some people may not be interested in finding out about their roots. However, there is also another side to this story, what if you know you have been adopted, perhaps not officially, it did happen, in my own case I am searching for a cousin (on behalf of his brothers) he was 'adopted' but not officially, so it will be near impossible to find him, obvisouly his name would have been changed. At least if he had been officially adopted, this would have been registered somewhere, what has he been told about his birth mother (if anything at all) and does he know he has siblings desparate to find him, was he told about them? surely if he was, would he not have had some desire to contact them? Unfortunately all avenues tried so far have failed to trace him, if only he knew that his relatives were desparate to find him, but how can he unless he expresses some desire to find them and finds some way of making his wish known? If anyone reading this 'fits the picture' and thinks HE may the adoptee in question, please contact me. The person referred to would now be 69, time flies, so it would be lovely to have contact before it runs out! Keeping my fingers crossed!!
