That's a shame, but I suppose these things take time. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if anyone else has any better ideas - I've not really used the 1861 yet, having enough trouble locating my lot on the fully transcribed ones! Good luck

Hi Linda How are you I am now stuck on my family have wife and kids on 1861 Lanacshire Ulverston but son and father missing - must have popped out for night - thought if I trawled 1861 could see where they had disappeared to?? Do you have much luck accessing FREECEN?? Ann

There's an offer no-one with Yorkshire ancestors can refuse Linda! If ever you're really bored you can have a look for my Brodrick aka Broderick ada Broadrick family!!! George 1821 is the furthest back I can get - he was a corn miller in Beeford in 1871 (wife Elizabeth, kids Eliza, George & Richard). I'm thinking of buying some census cds - are they worth having??

Definately worth buying. Hours of eye straining fun!! Seriously, I find loads of people I didn't even know existed. Its definately easier if your rellies lived in small towns or villages though. Anne

Got mine from S&N genealogy. You can find villages and towns and in large towns there is a street index. They are trying to get a name index together but I havn't got that. I usually find the ones I want just by trawling through. I confess I did ask an Ancestry subscriber for a lookup for one elusive person - then I could go to my disc and get the image and find the neighbours etc. Anne
