Legal age for marriage in 1871

Hi all. Wondering what the legal age for marriage was in 1871 only i have found that in the in the cesus for that year, my gg grandfather has a son in law aged 13,which his 11year old daughter is married to, (mind blowing how mistakes happen) Jan

Have you looked at the actual image to check the ages are correct?
