Have you tried Family History Online? I have found it quite useful for earlier marriage I couldn't find elsewhere.

Have you checked out the town and/or county records for that time. Hawkers had to pay Tax and in some cases apply for a licence to sell

hi heather thanks for help, i think this could be a marathon task, but it,s the only way forward, i,m a bit concerned that this may be the end of the line for this side of the family, marcie x

Have you tried familysearch IGI? Or a Herts Family History Society? Google to check in case there are any transcriptions on line. Before 1837 it is a case of finding the marriage in the Parish Records.

hi, i,m looking for the marriage of william rowbottom to sarah edwards, circa 1770-90, possibly in herts, can find no trace of it, have tried palletts and britishorigins, have sarahs birth as shabbington bucks 1759ish, but her mother was a hawker so don,t think she stayed there, any advise/help would be appreciated, been stuck here for two years marcie x
