Maybe her record hasn't been transcribed yet? (FreeBMD/Ancestry are incomplete). Have you tried 1837online, which is a copy of the complete GRO index?

My Gr Grandmother Marion Sarah Jane Christopher's birth does not appear to be registered. I have tried variations on the spelling (she is on the 1881 census as Mary A) in various sites Freebmd, Ancestory, Familysearch.org etc. with no luck. She was born around 1877 in Kensington London. Does anyone have any suggestions on where else I can try. Thanks Michaela
