I had another look today on Free BMD and found death details and birth details of ancestors so do not forget to keep checking they are adding more info all the time. Good Luck Irene.

Funnily enough, I found only yesterday on IGI an unsuspected sibling - it checks out, Parish Register source is given. It was a new transcription of an Isle of Man Register not previously on the IGI. I try to do a general trawl say once a month of Freebmd, IGI, and my favourite A2A - it is usually worth it. Marjorie

Tracy - A2A is Access to Archives. It is an index of all (well, all so far) Archives (from about the year 800) and where or who holds them. It only gives titles to documents, however some of the titles are ver long indeed and things like settlement orders, bastardy orders etc give enough names in the title to either interest you or not. It is a difficult and tedious site to search - but not as bad as the National Archives Site - mainly because it doesnt have a Soundex facility, although if you are computer-literate, you may be able to follow the instructions for using the wild card - I can't, so just plod tediously through it. Good luck Marjorie

You are right, Irene. It is too easy to look at a site once, not find what you want, and then not bother to look again. Another site which has regular updates is Family History Online. It is definately worth checking regularly to see what else has been added.
