Talk about a miss transcription a lady who i have been searching for called Laura jane was transcriped as mesers !!!!!!! how do you mistranscript that. The mind boggles.

Hi Norma I know a lot of the transcribing was done in foreign speaking countries, which is why some of the mistakes are real 'head-scratchers'. Sam

Or maybe it was the enumerator who was drunk, and thats what their writing looked like to the transcriber! I quite often see 'Names' that aren't really names, but when I look at the original, must admit that its exactly what I'd read the name as too! Carole

My OVERS are sometimes....HOVERS, then OVER and also....GOERS!!!! Thats 4 times a search....

Hello Norma, Today I had the same thing. I finally found my Henrietta transcribed as Henry Ella!!!!!!! Unbelievable.
