I've just sent an email to someone on the Ancestry boards who would appear to be a second cousin- we share the same gt grandmother. I realise I have written to her before but didn't get a reply then (maybe the email didn't get there). Is there a quick way to check if she is a member of GC? Thanks Aileenx

Have you tried a name search.

Hi Aileen, go to your home page, and then enter her name in the search box, if she is here - either in her own right or on someone else's tree than she should appear. Do you know where and approx. when she was born? Trudy

Thanks Nichola and Trudi, I've tried the homepage check and have found someone with the same name who could be her. I think what I'll do is, wait and see if the lady replies to my new email first and then switch to plan B (contacting the person on this site) if she doesn't!! Trouble is, I've written to so many people recently who I am certain are connected but they are only half interested and don't persue anything...makes me a bit impatient!! :o)) Aileenx

Well, Joy, that will be Plan C if the other two fail! LOL I seem to have had so many disappointments recently and it's not as if I want big family 'meet ups'..just a few answers to see if I'm on the right track!! Aileenx
