How do I alter my tree to show that a child has a different mother from the one I first thpught? In other words, he is the stepson of the second wife. Can't see how to do it! Thanks Marjorie

Marjorie, You have to delete him then add him again unfortunately. When you add to to the father there is an option to select the mother. Crista

Crista Thanks for that, I will try it. Unfortunately I have to put him as son of Unknown Unknown, who was born God knows where and when. Silly, isnt it. Marjorie

If you don't know where or when he was born or to whom, then why put him on at all. Surely you only put people on your tree that you have details for. Mary

I think Marjorie means she doesn't know yet who his mother is. It says SON OF Unknown. She knows the boys details as she's already entered him once.

Sorry, I didnt make it clear, its the mother, the first wife whom I know nothing about. The three children have the same father but I recently discovered that the father was married twice - first wife was mother of eldest child but nothing, utterly nothing, know about her. Marjorie
