Emma Is it possible that she (and maybe her father) changed their name from something else to Wynn? did she have a stage name as a dancer? nell

tried everything i know, looked at all the ones under 13 and not one with father named william at all. even did a soundex, so she either lied or she's not on ancestry, that means you need to find someone on the records office who has an 1901 census disc. soz not much help good luck :-)

Oh wow, it very possibly could be...am writing all of this down as my printer is out of ink!!!! Thankyou so much....have new possibilitys now. id say it was very common to lie, or they didnt know how old they were etc as they were poor counters etc. on census ages can be out which you expect, but i never expected it on a cert, but mine defo lied, LOL. :-) shame you dont know if any siblings were born before her as we could look for them etc. i'd go back and ask more questions to family. :-)

Thankyou very much..so was it common to lie then? Only i think she lied about lots!!!! All i have is Winifred Kathleen (another possible lie) Wynn, born 1895, married 1926, had daughter 1926 and died 1961. Apparently she was a very strange woman. she was a dancer and i have stage photos and in most she has cut her head out!!!

What have you found so far and where have you looked?

Am i just being thick? For ages now i have been trying to find out about my G Gran. Right...her name is winifred kathleen wynn. Born 1895. I do not know where. Some lovely people have tried to look for her but not found a winifred wynn, plenty of other first names though! On her wedding cert it says married 1926 to albert alfred charman. Says she was definatly 31 years old and her father was william wynn an actor. He was dead by the time she married, in lambeth. Basically i need to find her birth or cant go any further...need her mums name and more on her father. She died 1961 in lambeth. What am i doing wrong....what am i overlooking?
