money in the 1880's

Hi can anybody know of a place where i can see who much some money would be. Weve found a will from 1886 and he left £560 6s 6d. Any help would be great. Thankyou norma

I should think that at todays rates it would work out at thousands Norma...working on 1960 when a council house rent cost me £1..6..11d and 2lb sugar was 8d in the old money. Anne

Just googled it and it says approx. £35,000 at retail price change. Anne
