help making a copy of my gr tree

Can any one tell me how I can make a copy of my tree, I just want to save it on a disc, looked at exporting help on here, but got lost does it mean if I export my tree it will no longer be on here, forgive my ignorance. ANNABEL

NO Annabel...get a ged c o m f i l e... It will still be on here aswell....please dont ask me how to get a ged c o m file lol.....I got a friend to do it for me. Check this message later on...Im sure someone will tell you how/where to get it. Gerri x

Thanks Gerri I have a tree on paf but do not want to put my gr tree on to that, looks like I will have to have a new family program, will wait to see if I get any more replys I know its night time in the uk cheers ANNABEL

Hi Annabel, It's not the answer your looking for but... I've got my direct line on here but my extended tree on Excel spreadsheet. It didn't take to long to key them all in and you can add as little or as much info as you like. Much easier to email, edit etc and it's all on one page, giving you the bigger picture. Mel in Oz.

Hi, Im no whizz kid, but if you record your tree on to a cd and send it the person the other end has to have a family tree program that is compatible to be able to read it. The thing you can do on FT2005 is export it to PDF which is a readable form and then send it to your relation. Why not ask her to download the PAF program which is free on familysearch site and then you could send her the cd of your program and it would export into the PAF tree program?
