Hi Lynsey, Try this for Scot and Irish Ship Passenger Lists http://my(.)execpc(.)com/~haroldr/sislist(.)htm That's better! remove the brackets ps my McKennas came from Drumlish Co.Longford Nell is right, there are no lists for people coming to England only to America or Canada I think Australia have them too.

Lynsey When do these people start appearing on censuses or getting married/having babies/dying in this country? That will give you a rough date. I don't think that there are any ships' passengers lists for people coming here from Ireland. If you want Irish records I also think you have to go to Dublin, but I'm not sure. What information do you have about these Hooligans/McKennas? nell

i was hoping some one can please help me. My nan was the decendant of two irish families. her fathers family 'hooligan' and her mothers family 'mckenna'. they lived in widnes. unfortunately i cannot find which part of ireland they were from and when they came to this country. i have followed the links on the GR homepage but cant get anywhere. Does anybody know how i would find these details out? I believe certain names come from certain areas but i wouldnt have a clue where to look and there are passenger lists and again not sure were i would find this info. please help me...well and truly stuck
