My Matilda born c1838(Wednesbury) married John Poole born c1833 but they had two step sons in the 1871 census and Im assuming they were hers? Abel and Chas Horton born c1857 and c1859.Found a possible for Abels birth...waiting for cert. They also had.... John Poole c1866 Wolverhampton or short heath Emma Poole c1866 Short heath sarah c1868 Wolverhampton or short heath Mary c1880 Short heath. John Poole(the father) seems to dissapear between 1879 and 1881 Id like to find Matildas maiden name. Cant find her anywhere. Loadsa thanks in advance ;o) Gerri x

There's no likely marriage on Free BMD, so I think the only way is to look through 1837 on line between 1856 and 1868 for a marriage. Having spent the weekend doing exactly the same thing (without success) I can only wish you luck!! Peter

Anyone gotta spare credit on 1837 online please? Matilda???? to either a HORTON or a POOLE? 1856-1868. Im sorry! I know I have the cheek of the devil but..... if you dont ask......you dont get! Gerri x

Gerri It doesn't show the spouse's name before 1911. So you would need to know Mathilda's surname and the other person's first name to cross reference them! Sorry! Lou
