Although seminary commonly means a training establishment for priests, it also just means a private school. nell

What would a RC priest study to become a priest? Have found a cousin in a RC seminary in 1891 listed as a Student of Philosophy - half of the students are studying Philosophy and the other half are listed are Students of Theology - would they have studied one then the other, or were the Philosophy students not there to train as priests? Anyone got any ideas? Thanks, Jackie
