Seeing that Ancestry are now offering fully indexed Marriages - 1984-2000, out of curiousity I looked up a known marriage. Anyone know what the 'REGISTER No' is ? Date of registration: JUL 2000 Registration district: N E Hants Registration county (inferred): Hampshire Volume number: 495 Page number: 11nn Register number: C24

well hidden. I assumed it would show up in the hit-list after a search .... but no. On main Search page, click on 'Birth Marriage Death more ...', then on the Search page that loads, look in the boxed area towards the bottom titled 'Search Individual Birth, Marriage & Death Databases:' The 1984-2000 index is under 'England and Wales' PS. Damn ! missed your update - LOL

it's not complete though, even though my first one is there, there are several I know definately happened that are missing. I presume maybe wrongly, that the register number is simply that, the number of the register. Thye are probably numbered from 1????
