Have just found ggg-grandads possible brother Pryor Richardson. Is that his name or does it mean something else?

Are you sure that's what it says? Pryor sounds to me like a surname used as a first name. A prior is the head of a religious order; in an abbey the prior is next below the abbot nell

Hi Lynda looks like it is a name try this http://www(.)quorndon(.)com/genealogy/documents/census-1881-bystreet(.)pdf Its in Pdf format so you need acrobat reader installed to read it, when it comes up click edit at the top of your screen, then click find, you'll get a box to type in, type Richardson Pryor the surname first as thats how they've listed it
