I'm looking for a good and honest website that could tell me the meanings or origins of my tree surnames, for free and printable. Thanks Sarah (Newbie)

Tony You can't post a URL address on the site without putting brackets around the dots unless its an org address. GR censorship! Lou

I think generally surnames are either from the place they lived, e.g. Horstead, from the job they did e.g. Turner or a descriptive name, eg Longshanks.! I guess over the years these evolved so that they may not be recognisable at first look.
