Different places of birth on the census??

Hello, I am very confused about the census's. For quite a few different relative I have one place of birth on 1871 census then something completely different on the next two - sometimes even different countries! Also this appears to be the same with the ages even though they are definatelt the same people. Has anyone else come across this? |

I have. On 2 censuses they're born in Scotland. In the other 3, they're from Tadcaster lol |

if they were 'poor' they tended to say a place nearby in fear of being moved on |

Hi Natalie Ive had the same problem, some say Tanfield others say Tantoby in Co Durham I know my ggrandfather moved around because of work, but sometimes its enough to put you in your own grave! I wish they would all keep still! Yvonne x |
